A historic look at the definitive video game icon

Video games have produced a number of memorable characters over the years. From the speedy Sonic the Hedgehog to the sultry Lara Croft, these characters have supplied gamers with countless hours of enjoyment in front of the television screen. But out of all these characters, only one has stood the test of time as the quintessential representative of the video game culture.

That character is Mario.
